Thinking abt this on & off today (the reason I ruined my curl pattern earlier 😭)

But imo, no. The interplay of aesthetic and associated character is what creates the bimbo: hard feminine aesthetics (plastic) + emptiness you can fill (airhead) + overarching character (harmless + https://twitter.com/thinglygrammar/status/1303184232731283457
mouldable). The desire for bimbos comes from a place of desiring control, in filling that (faux)emptiness with the superficial, to reducing to singular purpose.

But it headbutts sexualised tropes of Blackness in that misogynoir has already crafted an identity.
Hard fem aesthetics quickly flip instead to hoe (also sexualised &/ derogatory racialised term). Then, empty headedness becomes the 'conquering: of the Black body; racialised tropes are more likely to be loud + argumentative, so in filling us, there's conquest/submission instead.
Misogynoir means while we could be mouldable, unless we're explicitly seen as vulnerable, manipulation or enforced submission would need to occur to achieve the same malleable putty state.

& Black women just aren't afforded the luxury of
Harmlessness. Instead the hoe or the thot is conniving or scheming.
& desire for the plastic fantastic is simply another character flaw wrt Black folk; Superficiality is only considered attractive in rare circumstance.

Integral faucets of the bimbo just don't map to Blackness.
Obvs, this is just my understanding of it, from "the dumb blonde bimbo" to the active fetish of bimbofication. I think it's interesting how both have foundations in desire and aesthetics though.

I'd say that the latter is completely informed by the former & it's usage,
So I'm not completely surprised by how racialised the term (& the fetish) are, considering how so much of the visible categories of desire are created by and for the white male gaze.

Like, why would they need Black bimbos when they have the exotic Amazonian queen to subdue?
