Tenants must declare their inability to pay via a CDC form to their landlord. They must show that they have taken best efforts to get state rental assistance/support, that they can’t cover rent payments, & show eviction would cause homelessness.
This DOES NOT protect tenants from:
-eviction for reasons “other than nonpayment of rent”
-“fees, penalties, or interest as a result of the failure to pay rent on a timely basis.”
-Does not stop collection of these fees, penalties, or interest at this time.
