Under the terms of the WA export of "products of animal origin" such as meat, fish, shellfish, eggs and dairy from the UK mainland over to Northern Ireland will become subject to EU oversight - why they signed up to this, you may ask... but there we are......
EU has a “Third Country” list of approved nations that can legally import agricultural goods into areas subject to their rules.

The UK being on that list is assumed in deal scenario

So the prospect of GB to NI agri-goods imports being outlawed by Brussels in that scenario is very real - a constitutional abomination. And something that clearly cannot stand in the eyes of this govt tonight. Wonder who would disagree?
Brussels tonight do not deny they are dangling third party status. EC sources say they can't possibly begin assessment of whether UK qualifies for place on its approved list until it knows post Brexit standards.

For anti-spin have a look who has mananged to make the list before.
