THE STRONG MAN

When you hear WINNERS CHAPEL, what/who comes to your mind?
When you hear MFM, what/who comes to mind?
When you hear RCCG, what/who comes mind?
When you hear DEEPER LIFE, what/who comes to mind?
When you hear TREM, what/who comes to mind?
Jesus?
I don’t think so…
What comes to mind is the Strong Men of these Churches, not Jesus.
We have succeeded in diverting attention from Him to these men.
We encourage people to give testimonies like, “I used to have migraine, but when our Daddy prayed for me, it disappeared! Hallelujah!”
Or: “I used to be epileptic, but when I came in contact with Papa, I go healed! Praise the Lord!”
We inadvertently amplify the man or the ministry, giving the impression there’s something “special” or “different” here, compared to others.
Superiority Complex.
John the Baptist had a challenge:
He introduced Jesus to the world and something significant happened: he lost relevance! Jesus became the Superstar! (John 3:26-30). John was told, “Bro, that guy you just baptized has stolen your thunder! Everybody is going to Him now!”
John’s response was epic: “He MUST increase, I MUST decrease”.
Unfortunately, the template our Churches run today does’t decrease the Strong Man. On the contrary, it INCREASES him! His pictures are everywhere- billboards, posters, books, banners, on TV- everywhere!
That’s why he comes to mind when the ministry is mentioned: He IS the ministry!
People are more interested in pleasing him than pleasing God.
People are more interested in being in his good books than in God’s good book.
People seek his approval than God’s.
People would rather he prays for them than they pray for themselves.
To his followers, his word IS scripture!
Their loyalty to him must be seen and displayed.
So, when he curses people and threaten to kill them, when he tells his flock, “If you see them here, KILL THEM!
Shed their blood on the floor!”- his flock respond with “YES!”- even when they know the Bible supports neither murder nor curses.
The scriptures say, “Looking unto JESUS, the author and finisher of our faith”- Hebrews 12:2.
The problem here is, the Strong Man is now so BIG, he is blocking the view. We can’t see Jesus anymore.
These Strong Men have followers who are not necessarily followers of Jesus.
Ironically, there are Churches who have no Strong Man: Baptist. ECWA. Assemblies of God. Foursquare. etc. We ave no idea who leads these Churches! That is the RIGHT template, folks.
Until our Strong Men realize this, they’re just building their religious empires, not necessarily the Kingdom of God.
Jesus is the message and the message is Jesus.
Not you, sir.
Not your Church, sir.
Truth be told, no matter how big your church is, YOU ARE A SERVANT. And only you cannot be the body of Christ.
All that drama and effizy are unnecessary.
We’re tired of seeing you, sir.
Kindly reduce your size, let’s see Jesus biko.

Shalom.
