Irish music! I’d be lost without music. I listen to it religiously, and we have such incredible homegrown talent. The below is a *long thread* of some of the ones I’ve been listening to. You’ll have heard of some and maybe not of others, I hope there’s something there for you!

In no particular order, I’m starting with @fontainesdublin - absolutely explosive initial 3 years and their new album ‘A Hero’s Death’, is sublime.
Someone whose voice I can’t get enough of. Offaly’s @luzcorrigan is just absolutely stunning. Her track ‘I’m Lonely’ is one of my favourite Irish releases.
I’ve always been a fan of @MaverickSabre, ‘When I Wake Up’ is an insanely good album. Saw him at Picnic last year. Highlight:
The beautiful soul that is @aoifescott. Gorgeous voice and incredible stage presence. I was lucky enough to go to her packed album launch (Homebird) pre-pandemic in the Button Factory. Highlight:
I can’t not mention @DermotKennedy. An incredible grind from busker to chart topper all with total humility and grace. Lots of highlights, but this live version of ‘Rome’ from his debut album Without Fear is special:
If you haven’t heard the track ‘Love Tonight’ by @SouleOfficial, you’ve been under a rock. Soulé’s tracks are a lesson in making pop music. The video for this is great too:
I think @MangoXMathMan had one of the best Irish albums of the past ages. ‘Casual Work’ dropped last year and weaves a narrative throughout the entire thing, culminating in this absolutely gripping finale, Said & Done:
I am so bowled over by @thisislyra. Her track ‘Falling’ is hauntingly beautiful and even better when she sings it live. I think she’s one of Ireland’s most impressive voices right now.
Rock on til’ the break of dawn, it’s @fangclub - went to see these guys with a friend ( @banogue) maybe two years ago now in a tiny venue in London, can’t believe how fat they’ve come. Highlight:
Please do yourself the favour of finding out who @BiigPiigMusic is. A stunning talent from Cork now based in London. Can’t go wrong with any of her music, but Perdida is a fave of mine:
These boys are gas - @KNEECAPCEOL are Móglaí Bap, Mo Chara and DJ Provaí from Belfast. I’ve seen them live and they are immense. Everything as gaeilge, you don’t even have to understand them... to understand them...
Denise Chaila @DeniseChaila is making serious waves right now, a highlight from the recent #SongsFromAnEmptyRoom show at The Olympia. Learn her name:
Moncrieff, another incredible Irish talent. Again, I’ve seen him live a number of times and his voice and range is just insane. Hard to go wrong with any of @MoncrieffMusic’s tracks. I loved his @selenagomez cover at @RTE2fm though:
The wonderful @ELangfordMusic - her new music video for her latest release Birdsong is only a mere 3 or 4 days old. Beautiful voice, and also totally worth the follow on Twitter and Insta!
I think @Hozier’s Shrike is one of the most stunningly written songs of all time. Google the lyrics. It’s breathtaking poetry.
Big shout out to @AimeeMusic_ - one of the happiest and most positive forces of nature in the industry. Her latest single Naked is both as beautiful as it is empowering.
Hugh O’Neill is Honas, a musician from Sligo whose music is nothing short of perfect. @honas_music’s video from Wicker Blanket is lots of old footage he gathered from his parents old video camera (I think). It’s amazing:
Fia Moon @fiamoonmusic is such an incredible talent. Better Days is an amazing track and her more recent release ‘XX’ is
- If you didn’t know her, now you do:

The boys @TebiRex - love these guys. Have had the pleasure of seeing them live a few times now. Their album The Young Will Eat The Old is amazing (3 Acts long), here’s a highlight:
Surely you’ve heard of @alliesherlock - catch her on Grafton Street on a sunny day and be blown away by her talent. There are any number of highlights to choose from, but here’s a great one:
I’ve been a @JafarisMusic fan from early early days. His energy live is mindblowing, his album Stride is amazing and his music videos are just insane:
Grammy nominated @thisisruthanne has written some of the biggest pop tracks on the planet. She’s also the brains behind @irewomeninharm
Highlight: The Vow:

Seen these guys live a bunch of times too. @InhalerDublin know how to put on a show. Heard this track first when it was a demo and love how it’s ended up, these guys are amazing:
Have also had the pleasure of seeing @PillowQueeens live. Really really distinct sound and their video for Handsome Wife was made while we were all in lockdown, and it’s awesome:
Alrighty, continuing the thread today. This time, it’s @Robert_Grace who takes the spotlight. His new single Fake Fine earned him a record deal and is so so good. The video is class too, and his TikTok account is a joy.
The force that is @ItsEricaCody - if you’ve not heard of her by now then make it your business to. Not only an amazing person/musician, but a strong advocate for social change.
Lucy McWilliams @LucymcwilliamsM is an absolute powerhouse, with her debut track with Malaki called Fair Play causing quite the stir. Does she get the singing gene from her dad @davidmcw I wonder

This dude is an absolute gent, have had the pleasure of seeing him live a number of times, and what a voice. @JaXsonSound has to make the list:
Again, I’ve been lucky enough to have seen her live a number of times, and her personality from the stage is infectious. The amazing @laoisemusic

This track is so good. Another lesson in pop music making. @isaacbutlerRW’s ‘Paranoid’. I defy you to not get this chorus stuck in your head:
I’ve also seen this band live a number of times as well, and daaaaamnn. Get familiar with their own material (‘Used’ is a highlight), but while you’re here, check out their cover of Passionfruit. This is @WyvernLingo. So so good.
Mr. @rejjiesnow has to get a place on this list. From Drumcondra, Rejjie has risen to huge international success. So many tracks to choose from, but here’s a hightlight:
Fierce electro-pop from Derry, get yourself familiar with @Roe_music - I first came across her because of a called ‘Hey Thomas’, but Girls (below) is a highlight. Also check ‘Room to Breathe’

I’ve skin in the game on this one, but m’boys @ChasingAbbeyHQ gotta get mentioned. You’ll know Talk to Me from the Eir ad surely. Some exciting new stuff coming *very* soon.
Absolutely love @siightsofficial - what a sound, and amazing songwriters too. Between their own tracks and their remixed tracks, there’s lots to choose from, so get stuck in:
Again one of our own, but I gotta shout out Mr. @Josh_Gray97 - his Spotify is hit after hit, but I *adore* this track, ‘Imagine’. Those lyrics. Damn.

Saw Loah live a number of times too. Go check out her track ‘Unveiled’ on Spotify and go from there, but to give you a taster of how insanely talented @musicbyloah is, turn off and watch this cover of Dancing in the Moonlight for @TodayFM - stunning:
The much-loved @MartyGuilfoyle is gonna get you off your feet and moving. While he’s not gracing the airwaves on @spin1038, he’s making incredible dance music and DJing live shows across the country. If you need to move, this’ll help:
I only came across @Shookrah a couple of months ago after a friend put me onto them. Dying to see them live. Saved this song the second I heard it:
Familiarise yourself with @RusanganoFamily - been on my radar since winning the @choiceprize back in 2017 for their album Let The Dead Bury The Dead. If this is the first you’ve heard of them, you’re very welcome:
Have loved @CWalshMusic’s voice since I first heard it. Huge things to come from this guy no doubt, but here’s the track that did it for me:
Orla Gartland @orlagartland is a phenomenal Irish talent. After exploding on YouTube, her own tracks are a lesson in songwriting. “I’m swallowed up by this Catholic guilt, oh God”, I think you’ll relate. Lots to choose from, but the lyrics in this are
:

Listen I don’t know what ever happened to these guys, but Sligo’s This Side Up @ThisSideUp071 were so much fun. Billy No Mates is a definite highlight, but so was everything else they touched:
I’ve seen @RoisinOmusic live a whole bunch of times and hairs stand on end. You’ll have seen @ThanksBrother_ on the festival circuit no doubt, but I’ll never forget hearing Roisin’s cover of Chandelier for the first time, this is a total treat:
You gotta get some @IamFlynnMusic into your lives. Have seen this dude live too, and whaaaaat a voice! Check out ‘Recognise’, a track he did with @LFrequencies:
Adding to this as I think of them! Somehow I left the incredible @kehlimusic out, her tracks are insanely good and extremely catchy. The video for this track ‘Hypnotized’ was all shot in lockdown, so lots of creative juices flowing!
Wanted to wait until today to add these guys to the thread, @bandwildyouth are just next level. Beautiful people, beautiful music. I’ve seen them live a bunch of times and their new single Next to You is - as always - an absolute bop.
