For anyone that didn’t notice, these two are actually different people.
- probably the “eyes of the sanctuary”
The one wearing white introduced herself as ‘Shima’, the one wearing black introduced herself as ‘Bilma’ and they acted noticeably different

I’m thinking that Shima is in the conservative faction whereas Bilma wants them to be freed. Ram seemingly didn’t want Bilma to know that Subaru was in contact with Shima, I’m assuming that was actually what Roswaal desired.
Messy thoughts incoming:
Garfiel is a truly perplexing existence for me though along with the Roswaal-Beako relationship seeing as I’m almost certain that they’re both connected to Echidna but don’t seem to be *necessarily* close allies.

I think Garf is being manipulated/controlled in one way or another, he doesn’t like Roswaal so I’m assuming it’s either by Echidna herself or Shima, probably the latter. Echidna’s plan is in motion, I don’t know how it’s gonna go down but I think I know the result.
Roswaal seems to be dependant on Subaru to ‘get it right’ in order for his goals to be achieved. I don’t know if he has independent goals aside from Echidna, of whom I KNOW he’s loyal to. But I can ascertain that Echidna is dependant on Subaru for her to be freed.
Roswaal admitted to ‘letting this all happen’, I assume in the name of cultivating Subaru and perhaps Emilia too. He is essentially farming character progression for Subaru and reaping the benefits. I can’t see any connection at all with this ordeal and The Great Rabbit,
I see *some* connection with the Satella stuff but I find the Elsa stuff to be the most interesting. This may be presumptuous, but an assassin needs to be hired. Elsa is an assassin. I’m looking at you Roswaal.
I originally thought Elsa’s ‘directions’ was by a regular gospel but... perhaps not. It could be Roswaal’s book. The use of this ‘tome of wisdom’ always has a huge inconsistency though, and I can’t figure it out. Sort sort of condition for its use or something
Subaru IS in the tome of wisdom but i think he has the power to change fate itself. Echidna mentioned something about if he sacrificed too many people to do so, he would never get the chance to get them back. I assume that means he’ll get a new respawn point
I don’t expect to have figured out his power yet (I’ll ignore the 7 sins stuff for now) but maybe whenever he transcends fate/the tome, he gets a new respawn point. And maybe he can only transcend it by doing certain *stuff* with the sins (not committing certain ones/overcoming)
My estimation of the chain of command in three different mini factions:
Echidna ——> Roswaal/Bilma ——> Ram
Echidna ——> Shima ——> Garf
Echidna ——> Beatrice
I truly believe Echidna has a foothold on *almost* everything here. All my thoughts result in her as the source.
Echidna ——> Roswaal/Bilma ——> Ram
Echidna ——> Shima ——> Garf
Echidna ——> Beatrice

Not to mention that I don’t buy Roswaal’s damaged state. In the novels, when he left in the Arc 2, he actually went to see Garfiel. This wasn’t in the anime for some reason. So he must’ve known about the barrier, I don’t doubt he’s actually hurt, but it may have been purposeful.
Frederica deserves a spot in the chain of command but I’d need to rewatch her interaction with Ram once more. I’m also assuming that Ram is -more often then not- blindly following Roswaal’s commands without being let in on the info.
It seems to benefit everyone if Emilia completes this trial but I don’t get how. I’d understand if it benefited Satella in some way, but Echidna?! Maybe Bilma just wants it because she seems to be an elf/half elf herself?
There are a ridiculous amount of moving parts right now that I can’t fully keep track of. I’m sure I’ve said many stupid things here, but hey, the novel readers will get a chuckle out of it at least.
