Some facts about the American male players at home Major:

* Between 1968-2003, the Americans had at least one player in the US Open semi-final, with an exception of 1986 (the first time they didn't have a player in the last four since 1966)
* Between 1968-1996, again with 1986 excluded, they always had two players in the quarter-final

* Between 1974-1985, at least one American was always in the final, Jimmy Connors, John McEnroe or Vitas Gerulaitis

* John McEnroe and Jimmy Connors won every title between 1978-1984
* At least four Americans reached the quarter-final in every year between 1977-1983

* They had at least two semi-finalists in every edition between 1977-1985

* In 1979, 1990, 1995, 1996, 1999, and 2002, there was an all-American final in New York
* When John Isner lost in the fourth round in 2009, the Americans had no player in the quarter-final for the first time in history

* Since 1991, only eight different players reached the SF (Courier, Connors, Sampras, Chang, Agassi, Martin, Roddick and Ginepri), none since 2005!
* In the last 13 seasons, the Americans have reached the quarter-final only six times (Roddick thrice, Fish, Isner and Querrey once)

* Between 2012-2016, there were no Americans in the quarter-final, something that had looked like a mission impossible in the past
* Andy Roddick is the last American US Open champion (2003), finalist (2006) and semi-finalist (2006)

* The American have failed to reach the quarter-final in seven of the last nine editions
