A fascinating slog thu cancel culture sludge where "accusations of racism & misogyny so freely and casually bandied about seemed pretty intimidating in themselves, and suggest that, whatever the outcome of the vote, the cancel culture won this battle."1/n https://www.realclearinvestigations.com/articles/2020/09/08/inside_an_elite_cancel_culture_session_where_leftists_meet_the_enemy_and_it_is__one_of_them_125102.html
Everywhere the IRONY:
"But the Romano matter shows that the real harm is to the suppression of ideas and arguments that might actually BE TRUE." [caps mine]. So let's take a look at what oppression looks like in the minds of the accusers:

"[T]he anti-racism pledge cited a survey showing only 5% of the staff in the publishing industry to be black, but it ignores the fact that an additional 19% of jobs are held by Asians, Latinos and other people of color."

"The anti-racism pledge itself acknowledges that last year 30% of the finalists and winners of the six critics circle book prizes were minorities, up from 22% in 2008."

Now I don't know Carlin Romano, a man by all accounts both brilliant AND brusque. But I DO know that the evidence bolstering the charges leveled against him--he's rude & feels the anti-racism pledge was poorly written--r insufficient to bolster the facile charge of racism.

But the more I watch anti-racists in action, the LESS honest and MORE vicious they look. Convince me otherwise.......
