In June, 2020, BLM went under the microscope because millions and millions of donations came pouring in. At that time, because BLM hadn’t received IRS approval for tax-exempt 501(c)(3) status., the were sponsored by Thousand Currents.
Thousand Currents released @ $1.8M to BLM in the year ending in June 2019. Of that $1.8M about 25% went to salaries, benefits, & payroll taxes. Another 46% went to “consultant fees,” Only a small fraction was spent on grants.
Keep in mind this was highlighted in June, 2020
Here is more info from FactCheck

Thousand Currents reported in the audit that they held $3.4M in net assets

It should be noted that the audit link posted by FactCheck, goes only to Thousand Currents home page.

“Thousand Currents changed its name from IDEX - Itnl. Development Exchange in 2016....Guided by lessons of the past, we honor our elders by celebrating the potential & power in the multitude when small yet formidable pockets of people power come together.” https://thousandcurrents.org/formerly-idex/
Strangely enough, in July 2020, BLM left Thousand Currents’ umbrella to join up with The TIDES Foundation, two weeks later.
BLM is now focusing on Election 2020
So we have a charity set up to bring radical change to global south, which had BLM under its umbrella. In 2016 it changes its name from IDEX to Thousand Currents, & 2 weeks after ppl start asking questions @ the millions being donated to BLM, BLM is handed off to TIDES Foundation
