Trying to get you into blazblue, a thread

Onto the characters we got a whole lot of interesting characters in Blazblue. Starting with the main character ragna, I unironically really enjoy him as a protag. Calling him an edgelord is a whole disservice cause Ragna isnt even an edgelord, hes kinda just an unlucky guy

We also got jin, ragnas brother, whos like that sort of opposite rival character with the actually kinda edgy personality with the occasional hate boner for ragna

The final character in this sort of main three is the main girl, noel vermillion, the most important character in the lore im absolutely not getting into. Shes kinda just a cute nervous gal all around with how she acts though.

Onto some less important characters but I think they are pretty cool, is my boy arakune, a crazy little blob thing is the best description I can give.

We have whats essentially a god cyborg samurai named hakumen, who is also kind of an alternate timeline jin

We have what I would consider to be blazblues cover waifu, makoto nanaya

Onto some more waifus we have a vulgar smart scientist cat girl.

We got some more catlike tanned cat girls with taokaka

We got robotic waifus, three of them in fact, my favorite and personal best girl being nu13, blue and white colors, yellow and white is lambda, the blonde is mu 12

We have rachel, a vampire gothic lolita tsundere who is also an extremely important character.

A perfect cute girl, celica, who is just the most wholesome best girl in blazblue

We have actually best girl c:, discord femboy amane who urironically crossdresses like this in his free time as a hobby.

We have saber, I mean Es, the chest, thats the whole character I’m not even gunna lie to you.

For the last and most convincing piece of waifubait I shall give, Nine The Phantom, who is kokonoes mother and celicas sister and fucked a cat.

The cat in question being jubei, ragnas master basically and also kind of taokakas father but not really, I think hes one of the cooler characters in blazblue with the whole experienced old man personality.

We have Carl, who has kinda been through it all, tried to capture ragna for his bounty and failed, got his sister and mom turned into puppets, horrible father figure, hes been through it even though hes kind of a little kid.

We have kagura mutsuki whos kind of a badass all around, fought one of the strongest characters in canon, staging a coup against the high power of the government, has a giant fucking sword.

A literal ooga booga man within the world of blazblue. Azrael has no magic no weapons and is one of the strongest characters in blazblue even with his 18 limitations or something like that.

Platinum the trinity, who is three souls in one body. The three souls being a really annoying girl, a really nervous guy and the third being literally one of the great heroes in the lore. Also a load of magical girl stereotypes

Tager, whos kind of just blazblues designated big boy and tells you to say your prayers while throwing you into the sky and slamming you back down.

Bang Shishigami who is a righteous ninja of peace and justice and love, hes one of the coolest characters just because of his flamboyant and loud personality, I fuck with it hard core

Tsubaki yayoi, you love her or hate her no in between, shes a super important character who is all about true justice given by the government.

Onto main antagonists we have relius clover, carls dad, he is a man of science, that tells you basically everything you need to know

Izanami is sold to be the main antagonist for awhile, death herself, ragna and jins sister, kuudere vibes with a cool aesthetic all around

And onto everyones favorite antagonists, the ones in green. First itll be evil michael jackson, who is a sort of vessel for the actual main antagonist. Hazama, hes the sort of stab you in the back sarcastic asshole antagonist and I eat that shit up.

Everyones favorite antagonist is here to finish blazblue characters that I think are interesting. Terumi. Crazy maniacal edgelord antagonist god, who basically causes everything bad to ever happen. Most entertaining character, he repossesses hakumens armor and turns into Susanoo.

There are definitely more interesting characters, I implore anybody interested to check out the roster and just scroll past who you think interests you.

For those afraid that blazblue is hard, dont worry, not only is the community super willing to help but there is also Blazblue Cross Tag Battle. Its a good segway to fighting games, to be honest this was my first fighting game too.

Blazblue games REGULARLY get sales that make them dirt cheap. I think BBCF and BBTAG are fantastic games, had I not experienced fighting games through them first I might have never given fighting games a chance. If you ever feel like “fighting games are hard for me”, weve all been there, just know that you can do it.

If you are sure that you dont want to play a fighting game. You can still be interested, watching fighting games is super interesting, and thats what I did for a long time. If nothing else, you can read up on the EXTREMELY LONG and VERY convuluted lore. Its a time travel plot.

Very briefly because I will warn you now its not good. Theres a blazblue anime which is kind of below average but you can try it if you want to. Theres also mangas but I dont know very much about them so I cant speak about it.
