The Rule of Law is applicable to all, but breaches of the Law differ in severity and impact. This is basic ethics.

It is not unreasonable to be more "exercised" over breaches of international law, by the very people that we entrust to make the laws that we are required to abide by, than by some protesters removing statues and blockading printing presses.
To be "exercised" more by one is not to excuse the other, it is merely to be able to see what represents a much bigger threat to the Rule of Law in our democracy.
