An official decision to kill King came as late as 1966, his death had to happen in Memphis. During the same year, Hoover would pay $25,000 to orchestrate an escape of a MO inmate named James Earl Ray, used as the scapegoat.
The area where King could be killed was not set in stone for a while. The NY & Chicago mafia bosses declined the million dollar murder contract on King from the CIA and FBI but the NOLA mafia boss didnt.
Carlos Marcelo accepted it but worked with Memphis bosses Frank and Sal Liberto to carry out the killing. Lloyd Jowers was the connecting piece so things had to go down in Memphis.
King had to be killed in Memphis because that’s where the gov. had most control of the facets of the operation & because of this, there would be a number of events enticing him to make his way there.
One event being killing two sanitation workers by plan of course, swallowed up in a garbage truck packing mishap to heighten the tension to get king to Memphis. Frank Holloman of the Memphis police specifically ordered this

Ron Tyler came forward late as a witness. He admits his father, Russel used to give money to O.Z Evers, a locate black leader in Memphis to pay Billy Kyles, Jesse Jackson and Solomon Jones for their intel on Martin Luther King Jr.
Clyde Tolson from earlier was the second ranking official for the FBI. He admitted to Tyler that these three, amongst others were all paid FBI informants as well.

Markell McCollough was a black military intelligence agent who was the first to King after he was shot. His job was to check for life signs and report death or no death.

After the 6:00 pm shooting, King was rushed to the hospital. He had to go to St Joe hospital for their plan to work just in case he survived the shooting, which he did. So what happened next?
Surgery was rejected by Dr Bland, the Adkins family doctor. Johnton Shelby said his mother who worked at the hospital(Lula Mae Shelby) heard sounds of men gathering and sucking up saliva in their mouths and spitting sounds.
That’s when she looked behind herself and seen Dr Bland put the pillow on his face & he remained in the ER w/ 2 men in suits. Dr. Bland & the 2 men spit on Dr. King, his breathing tube was removed & he was smothered to death, which was declared at 7:05 pm.
Bland also had a certain lethal injection as back up if it were necessary.

It must be noted that Abernathy fabricated his last moments w/ King at the hospital, I won’t get into details but just know it was a pointless fabrication.
We must also note how in his autobiography, he discusses how he supplied the FBI with Kings sexual escapades that he encouraged be taped around close proximity before King was murdered. The million dollar question is why?
In 1999, the King family won a lawsuit vs Lloyd Jowers confirming who truly killed King. The Memphis Mafia, Memphis/TN state police, CIA & others were also proven to be involved.
