Second statement: “Haines has seen young patients bounce back in weeks, but for older patients and those with underlying illness full recovery often takes several months.”
Haines may have seen this, but this categorically does not just affect older patients and people with underlying illness. Anecdotal evidence in fact suggests that #LongCovid particularly affects people that were young, fit, and healthy. Or I can - but I’m tricky because like many #LongCovid patients, I don’t have the “benefit” of a positive test.
A pity NZ still doesn’t acknowledge Long Covid/the BMJ’s direction that a positive diagnosis should not be a prerequisite for treatment

Long Covid isn’t a thing anyone wants and I worry about the impression that it just strikes down the old and infirm - which it doesn’t.
