I have spent the last couple of days reading over 1200 covering letters of applicants. I have enjoyed seeing the creativity, thought and research that has gone into applications but have some tips if you're looking to get into entry-level publishing roles. #Publishing #jobadvice
Read the full advert - if they ask a question, answer it. If you don't and with the volumes we receive, you won't make the longlist!
Make your covering letter relevant, we don't need every life skill.. why have you taken the time out to complete THIS application?
Make the covering letter easy to read...
Make sure the question you are answering is easy to find :)
Address the covering letter to someone.... anyone is better than no one! (Refrain from using Sir, too :))
