I realize my perspective may be different than many of my physician colleagues. Maybe this is why I’ve never felt fully comfortable within the culture of medicine. I have a learned a great deal from my nursing, social work, PA, pharmacy, public health, PT and OT colleagues.
I personally have a problem with terms like ‘physician-led’. As healthcare professionals, we all bring a unique skillset to our team-based work and I’ve always been sensitive to the social hierarchy within healthcare which has placed physicians at the top.
