Why it's okay to like Boscha, and why shipping boschlow doesn't make you an asshole who supports toxic relationships: a thread 1/8

#theowlhouse #Boscha #boschlow #toh
Boscha is a teenager. She has both the time and ability to grow and change as a person. Now then, you can ask literally any boschlow shipper and they WILL TELL YOU,, nobody likes the ship cause "xsavcgsv mmm angsty toxic, dark homestuck-kismesis-lookin-ass romance." 2/8
The point of enemies to lovers is not that there's something inheretly romantic about being an asshole to somebody. THE POINT, THE WHOLE APPEAL OF THE TROPE, is seeing one or more characters grow into a better version of themselves— 3/8
—embracing a healthier lifestyle, and doing it with somebody that makes them happy. People can like,,, change?? Wild, I know. In a world and on a website where saying something regrettable online as a thirteen year old is enough to ruin your entire career thirty years later— 4/8
— I know this may be a difficult concept for some of y'all but... PEOPLE CAN CHANGE. Boscha can change. She's not doomed to be a terrible person forever. Hell, Amity was a lil shit to Luz at first but nobody says anything cause of how fast her turnaround was. 5/8
And y'know? Good for her. I love Amity and I love how fast she decided to get herself together. But Boscha is not Amity. Even if she's never redeemed within the runtime of the show, she's a TEENAGER. She has TIME. And all she's done so far is act like an uppity asshole. 6/8
Y'all really gotta simmer down and learn to chill. Boschlow shippers literally only draw cute af wholesome artwork of Boscha and Willow being adorable. That ain't glorifying anything. If anything, it's glorifying self improvement. (Oh no, how awful.) 7/8
Anyways, I love Boscha, I love watching her be a bitch, I love thinking about a redemption arc, and I think enemies to lovers is a harmless trope which exists out of a love for hurt/comfort, not abuse. 8/8
