Good morning Twitter buds. I been defending Russ since The Memphis/OKC series in 2011 on this Godforsaken app. And all my hard work may come to an end tonight.
The game the Russ Standom began. A 3rd year player dropping 40 in a second round playoff game and the whole TL was dragging him
Same series. Game 7. Triple Double to help OKC advance to their first conference finals of the KD/Russ Era
Next year. At staples. Lakers were up as much as 18 for most of the second half and about to tie the series. KD hit the game winner, But Russ led the comeback. 37 of em. 55% shooting
Very next game. Chance to close the series. Kobe dropped 42. Russ once again led the team in scoring and FG% to lead them to a double digit win.
^^also leading them to their second straight WCF
Next series, vs one of those spurs teams that was supposedly unbeatable. Russ drops a light 23 and 12. One of the best games that the OKC big 3 played before the harden trade. Thunder took the series lead
And then followed that up with another great team win to advance to the NBA finals for the only time in OKC history. Russ dropped 25, 8, 5.
NBA finals: Game 4. A 4th year player. 43 in the finals. All twitter could talk about was what he had done wrong. More fuel on the Russ Stan fire
Greatest what if in thunder history. Okc was the best team in the league, and in game 2 Pat Bev dove at Russ knees, tearing his meniscus. That was in the second quarter. Russ scores 16 on the “stopper”s head in the second half on a torn meniscus:
Now before I get into these last two playoff runs, both WCF losses. It’s important to say this:

If you watched OKC in the 2014 and 2016 playoffs having never watched or heard of any NBA players before, you’d have assumed Russell Westbrook was the best player on the team.
Game 7 vs the Underseeded Grizzlies, Gasol has been hurt and it sunk them to the 7 seed.

Russ: 27, 10, 16. 63% shooting to send those boys home
4 days after that triple double vs the Grizzlies in game 7, OKC was down 0-1 to the clippers (CP) and had lost home court. This was KD MVP night

Russ: 31, 10, 10, and 3 steals on 59% shooting. Plus 2 HUGE moving screens drawn in the second half.
Game 3. Thunder take home court back vs the Clippers.

Russ: 23, 8, 13. 50 percent shooting, 66% from 3. Vs point god CP3.
Game 5 in a tied series: The Crux of my russ>CP argument.

Okc down 7 w 45 seconds left. consecutive assists, a steal in the backcourt on CP, and with less than 1 seconds left, down 2, drew a 3pt foul on CP, and made all 3.

Russ: 38,5,6. 48% shooting. Game winner in a tie series
Highlights of the above
2014 WCF: Down 0-2 to the spurs, AGAIN. Ibaka return game. Same spurs that 4-1 smoked LeBron in the finals.

Game 3 Russ: 26, 8, 7, 3.
Game 4 in that same WCF.

Russ: 40 points, 5, 10, 5 steals. 50% shooting. 40 % from 3.

Tie series
Game 6. Thunder Lose and go home to one of the greatest playoff teams ever in 6, with a hobbled Ibaka.

Russ helped push them to the limit.

34, 7, 8, and 6 steals.
2016 second round vs the 67 win spurs. Okc got blasted game 1 and looked like they were outmatched.

Russ said No: 29,7,10.
Game 5. 67 win Spurs. Tie series. Russ swung it in OKCs favor.

35, 11, 9. The game clinching and 1 with under 5 seconds last night
Game 1. 73 win warriors. Vs the 2 time MVP.

Okc down double digits. Russ scores 19 in the second half. First home playoff loss that year for the Ws.

Russ lead the way with 27, 6, 12, 7 steals.
Up 2-1 in the same conference finals.

Russ: 36, 11, 11 and 4 steals. Warriors look mortal for the first time ever
2017: MVP year. Game 2 vs the rockets

51,10,13, 4 steals. A +11 in a 4 point loss.
Game 3: OKCs only win in the series vs the rockets

32,12,11. 46% shooting.
End of the MVP season.

Russ puts up 47, 11, 9. A + 12 in a 6 point loss.
Game 5 vs Utah. Down 3-1. Down 27 in the 3rd quarter. Russ went Crazy.

45, 15, 7. Extended the season
The next game, Russ played similar. 46, 10, and 8. Kept OKC in it with big jumpers all night.

Playoff P went 2/16 and OKC went home
In closing, stop acting like Russ’ career began in 2017. Fin.
