We're marching for George Floyd and Trayvon Martin, while shedding tears for Martin Luther King Jr and Emmett Till.
This is our time to not only be a megaphone for black ancestors, but be the light that leads new generations on the path black ancestors wanted us to go. That same path where if you look back off into the darkness, you see torches & pickup trucks chasing you while you're jogging.
That same path where if you look down for too long you'll stumble over police officers kneeling on a black man until he's yelling out for his momma, because America refused to dismantle a racist machine—that's interfering with dreams of life, liberty and our pursuit of happiness.
That same path where if you look up you might see a noose blowing in the wind from helicopters & tear gas coming at you because they don't want us to see! But when their smoke clears we'll still be standing on our path united— and the only direction we plan to go is forward.
Now is the time, because in this moment Black children are marching with White children, while Asian & Latin children are holding Harriet Tubman's lantern so we can all see freedom! Now is the time, because these protests are maps to the dream brother King died with on our path.
We the people refuse to settle for a racist country that profits from illusions of equality & United States, but does nothing to unite their states. Now is the time, because America continued writing bad checks & shooting us in the back, so asking quietly is no longer an option.
We are the unfiltered disorganized truth, against a web of organized lies. True liberation for this traumatized nation begins now as we stop allowing our oppressors to dictate what we believe, especially when we see it jeopardizing the freedom & lives of those to come after us.
Their vicious dogs & ominous weapons are only a representation of what evil will do to divide us— but we shall overcome.

As we cross the waters with the blessings of brother John Lewis, carried by the spirit of every slave in every land who walked this path— we shall overcome.
