For decades Hollywood browbeat Whites about racism & "White guilt." Over time the brainwashing took hold

Here's one such preachy "Family Ties" tv episode. Note how the Blacks are portrayed as sophisticated, moral angels, & the Black son goes to Harvard

"Family Ties" Clip 1 of 2
In this 2nd "Family Ties" clip we see the White daughter praised for giving a speech stating that:

-their White neighborhood "needs disrupting"

-"disrupting is healthy"

-"[disrupting] the social order" is right

(Show producers Goldberg and Borowitz)

"Family Ties" Clip 2/2:
In another 80s "family comedy," "Gimme a Break," we are subjected to similar lectures.

The lesson is that so-called "racism" is a horribly grave sin Whites are guilty of & must feel terrible about & make amends for. Here Black star Nell Carter is shocked by the use of blackface.
In "Growing Pains"(producer Guntzelman), the message is Whites should feel horrible about favoring their own people. Given what we know about affirmative action, it's snort-worthy when the father says special treatment is wrong. We know he means it's wrong only if it helps Whites
In "Facts of Life," a White character is shattered upon learning of an ancestor's "racism" & is depicted as brave for not wanting a building named after the ancestor.

Show's producer was Jerry Mayer, who described himself as, "very proud to be a J-w who does not believe in God."
Kevin MacDonald ( @TOOedit), Andrew Joyce and others' works on J-wish group influence and the demonization of White in-group preference help give a lot of context. We can notice certain political themes and messages being pushed in 70s and 80s network tv.

@MGracie45 Yep. Many shows had "a very special" racism-themed episode. Looking back now it's remarkable to see how blatant they were. Viewers went along with it because, as you point out, they were already attached to the shows and the characters. People worshiped what was on tv.
