We have to save the constitution” argument suggests that every protestor irrespective of religion is equal and they are collectively resisting an attack on the constitution. But that is not true. This is deceptive,immoral and whitewashing of the exclusion Muslims face.

Invoking the constitution in the anti-NRC-NPR-CAA movement does not help us. NRC and CAA are a direct attack on Muslim community,an attempt to disqualify Muslms from their membership in the Indian society. And..the best argument against it is “that constitution is being attacked?

Reducing it to a fight between “saviours of constitution vs killers of constitution” automatically invisiblizes the fact that the fight was between “oppressors vs the oppressed”.

Why all the saviours of constitution came only after Muslims across India built a movement with their blood and sweat to save their life, dignity, and self respect?
