In April we sent a letter as a group to our lovely, gracious, kind, empathetic, and caring landlords asking for some sanitation supplies as we all live through a pandemic together. They sent a us a note that said they've provided these things. This is what we were given.
We've sent letters to them asking for supplies that were safe to use and we have heard nothing. We've also asked them what our options are for rent as we are now in month 6 of the pandemic. No response.

We're so worried about our landlords. what happened to them?!
We haven't heard, so in the months that have passed since, we have been organizing ourselves to do what our kind, loving, empathetic landlords should have done. We pooled our own resources together to keep our building safe and healthy.
Next week we'll be getting our deliveries of disposable surgical masks, vinyl gloves, and hand sanitizer. These are all we asked our landlords for, along with a conversation on how we to work together to make rent (reduced). They have refused to engage with us.
A bird told us our landlords feel personally attacked by tenants asking for a group conversation. We want to work with them. We need our rent reduced. After 6+ months into a pandemic & no word from these kind people who care about ALL their tenants. It's time to #CancelRent
We have learned through our good faith letters and their silence in response: that they do not share our concern for the safety of our building's community. But that isn't going to stop us. We are taking care of each other. We are providing #MutualAid. We joined @TANCBay.
We have been kind and longsuffering and gentle with our dearest darlingest landhoarders.

They gave us bleach and told us to be grateful, and that we are still obligated to pay their income.
In June one of our members made and distributed masks for the building.

Our members are investing their time and scarce money into keeping our community healthy and our building safe.

What are we even paying the landlords for?
