A firework explodes in the middle of the right wing shield wall. Rattled, their morale breaks and they begin to flee the field. Initially they stay together, an attempt to retreat in good order.
They flee back to the IRS building for cover. But federal agents seem unwilling to provide it. Denied the protection of the cops, the right wing shieldwall breaks up entirely and flees in separate directions.
A local family tells us they cannot get back to their car because right wing activists have taken over the parking garage. We approach them and one rushes out waving a baton.
Back at Terry Schrunk Plaza, this has been declared an unlawful assembly. As I arrive, DHS advances. This man sits shirtless in the center of the park and is pushed shot in the leg with a pepperball and then shoved down.
Everything is just going super well down here at Terry Schrunk.
One of the women I believe to be an organizer of the 'Back the Blue' marches by with DHS escort. At the end, some truly exceptional bullhorn heckling.
The Federal troops are pushed out of the park and back towards the IRS building, their home, by the weight of the crowd.
Here we see the crowd, shields at the front, advancing and slowly backing the Feds into their building. I kind of expected them to start shooting this entire time.
