I lived in ‘Dysart’ on Kimberley Rd in Greystones, Michael Collins Aunt, Maisie O’Brien Twohigs old house. He stayed w her many times including before he travelled to London for treaty negotiations. He went to mass in The Holy Rosary before he travelled #MichaelCollins RIP #OTD
He used to meet Kitty K for trysts in La Touche hotel across the road frm the house & they had decided to buy ‘Brooklands’ on Trafalger Rd behind Dysart to be close to her when they started their family. But that wasn’t to be. #MichaelCollins RIP #otd
Dysart overlooks Greystones Garda station - the old RIC barracks in the town - w binoculars u can see directly into upstairs offices of the barracks frm the window of the back bedroom...which might account for his frequent visits :)

The O Briens Twohigs sold Dysart to Sgt Manning a local Guard after MCs death... Commander OBrienTwohig was Harbour Master in DunLaoghaire & moved to Bullock Harbour to a house w a jetty so he could sail to work. We bought Dysart from Sgt Manning’s widow....
She used proceeds of the sale to donate a floor to local community centre in Kindlestown. I always liked living in the house knowing The Big Fella had walked those floors & slept in those rooms & no doubt taken a drop by the fire there #History #MichaelCollins RIP #OTD
