Don’t be fooled by Naby Keita.
I’ve seen a lot of love for Keita recently. Although he is a brilliant player, here’s why you shouldn’t be considering him for your FPL team

...He also only started 9/27 of the PL games he was available for last season.
The midfielders often don’t create for Liverpool. Their role in the team is to be more solid as the fullbacks go so far forward. Even if Keita is creative it often won’t translate into many...

...FPL points. He’s a quality player but more likely to assist the assister than score/assist.
He’s got 4 goals and 4 assists in his 2 seasons in the PL in 2206 mins. That’s a goal involvement every 276 mins. This shows even when he does get mins he still doesn’t return g/a

Is that really what you want in 9 games when a players in “top form”?
It takes up a valuable Liverpool slot. Liverpool are one of the best teams we’ve seen in the PL. make the most of it. Do you really want to waste a spot on a midfielder who isn’t nailed and gets you a...

...goal involvement in every 3 full games they play. Even if you don’t start with 3 Liverpool; you’ll definitely want 3 of Robertson, Arnold, Van Dijk, Salah and Mane at some point this season. Having Keita just adds an inevitable transfer, because you won’t keep him all season.

I do think Keita will up his game this season but i don’t think that warrants him becoming a good FPL asset. We saw it with Henderson this year - unbelievable season - one of the favourites for PFA POTY but he didn’t score/assist many. Liverpool midfielders...
..just don’t get many goal involvements with the system they play and for that reason I definitely won’t be considering Keita for my team this year.

Thanks for reading and I hope this has swerved you away from Keita and stopped you from jumping on a twitter bandwagon that I can see forming.
