I think one reason I have been rage spiraling about the Aaron Coleman thing is because I keep thinking about being a 12 year old girl with your nudes on Snapchat — what if *she* had political aspirations?
She experienced blackmail for nudes and revenge for not sending them at *12*. She knows that the pictures could still be circulating online, possibly among pedophiles. She would be terrified to have a public life at all.
But the girls he constantly bullied and harassed and the girl he spread nudes of (“only digitally” as he said in his statement) are basically never even deeply considered in the arguments of @ggreenwald @ryangrim @SeanMcCarthyCom etc —
Seemingly the *biggest* concern they have is that HE has been treated unfairly after what he did to them, how he shattered their childhoods and led one to a suicide attempt. As a child. That’s the one he recently said should move on because he has, btw.
It’s just so genuinely depressing, if not surprising, how little some self proclaimed progressives (who are incredibly influential!) care about women and girls.
Anyway, I care about them. And just a reminder that this outrage over his supposed cancellation is literally over some people saying they’ll write in a different candidate in the general ??? Such a sad, weird hill.
