Thread – Observations on the Democrat Convention and Secularism

1. A pal sent this to me this morning, and it is well worth posting for others to read. It comports with my thinking on the subject, too. The #Dementiacrats are secularists destroying the fabric of America.

2. Comments attributed to Franklin Graham concerning the Democrat National Convention this past week follow below. Whether they are his words or those of another, the message is spot on:

3. In watching some of the Democratic National Convention on television this week, it has been interesting to see the absence of God. I don’t believe America’s finest hours will be in front of us if we take God out of government and public life.

4. It is God who set the standards we are to live by.

It is God who said, “You shall not murder.”

It is God who said, “You shall not steal.”

It is God who said, “You shall not commit adultery.”

5. It is God who said, “Honor your father and your mother”

It is God who said, “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.”

It is God who said, “You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.”

6. It is God who said, “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes His name in vain.”

7. It is God who said, “You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.”

7A. It is God who said, “You shall have no other gods before Me.”

8. It is God who said, “You shall not make for yourself a carved image—any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth; you shall not bow down to them nor serve them.”

8A. “For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.”

9. God created us and this Earth we live on. Who do we think we are to try to rewrite the rules and run things apart from Him? Who do we think we are to try to take Him out of everything?

10. As Dr. Tony Evans said, “When One Nation Under God becomes One Nation Apart From God, expect the consequences.” That’s true in our individual lives and for our nation.

11. A-frickin’-men! Who can possibly believe that the violent rioters in #Dementiacrat-run cities have any semblance of morality and a moral conscience derived from Judeo-Christian values?

12. The rioters are the product of decades of secularism pushed by the #Dementiacrats and other Leftists. Never has there been a greater need in America for a religious awakening than there is today. It has happened before and can happen again, as noted here:

12A. The Great Awakening was a religious revival that impacted the English colonies in America during the 1730s and 1740s.

12B.The movement came at a time when the idea of secular rationalism was being emphasized, and passion for religion had grown stale.

12C. Christian leaders often traveled from town to town, preaching about the gospel, emphasizing salvation from sins and promoting enthusiasm for Christianity. The result was a renewed dedication toward religion.

12D. Many historians believe the Great Awakening had a lasting impact on various Christian denominations and American culture at large.

13. No question but that the first Great Awakening had a direct impact on the founding of our great nation! America was founded on Judeo-Christian principles by enlightened Founders for a moral people (a VERY important statement!).

14. What with the overt actions to secularize America since the founding of the ACLU in the 1930s, one might question that particular statement. We are witnessing in the streets on a nightly basis what the absence of morality has wrought!

16. Written in 1864, the book thoroughly demolishes modern arguments that the United States was founded as a “secular republic.” The Founders understood the evils inherent in Modern Man, which manifested themselves in unbridled governments that tyrannize their citizens.

17. They had fought the tyranny King George III’s government directly!

18. The Founders were particular concerned about protecting individual and property rights from the overreaching evils of a strong central government. That’s why there are so many checks and balances in the US Constitution.

19. The three branches of government – legislative, executive and judicial – were purposely established to provide legal restraints on each other so that complete power cannot be aggregated into a single branch.

20. This is why the Constitution is so important and why the Left seeks to render it into a “living document” subject to the arbitrary rule of men (themselves).

21. They wish to consolidate power in the executive and implement their schemes without being checked by We The People. This is flat-out EVIL, in my mind, and one of the express purposes that the Left pushes secularism incessantly.

21A. And the BLM and Antifa punks are being exploited by the #Dementiacrats to achieve that goal. Why do you think not a single person at their Convention condemned the violence in the streets? Because they are exploiting that violence politically!

22. The removal of natural law, historical legal precedents, and the morality that is derived from Judeo-Christian values is what they ultimately seek in order to implement whatever whacko socialist schemes they dream up.

23. The arbitrariness of the authoritarian policies enacted by #Dementiacrat mayors and governors during this #Plandemic is the direct result of an absence of morality among those elected officials.

24. Who but the secular would ban church gatherings while maintaining access to liquor stores and casinos as “essential services”? They have neither shame nor a moral conscience in making those decisions!

25. And rest assured, if the Biden-Harris ticket steals the 3 November election, we are going to be shocked at the authoritarianism that will result. They seethe with rage and will extract a horrible vengeance on Trump voters and on our institutions. Heaven forbid!

26. Yes, Graham was right. The Democrats have become a Godless party and would continue the country’s moral decay if restored to the Oval Office in November. It is long past time for America to return to the path from which we have strayed over the past 100 years. ///The end.
