➡️Just days after heavy rainfall in #Gurugram, a section of under-construction flyover collapses on Sohna Road.
➡️ Incident happened around 9:30pm
➡️ No injuries/casualties as per reports

➡️Deputy CM Dushyant Chautala says that two people have been injured and taken to hospital.

➡️ The tragedy got averted. Raises serious questions on construction quality and the material being used.
So as per reports, NHAI slapped a show-cause notice to developer Rajiv Chowk-Sohna Highway pvt ltd. It levied a penalty of Rs.50,000 each day and suspended the work at the site after forming a four-member committee headed by VL Patnakar, Former Director-General,
Ministry of Road Transport & highways.
Moreover, NHAI barred concessionaire, Oriental Structural Engineers Pvt Ltd (promoter of Rajiv Chowk-Sohna Highway Pvt Ltd) from participating in future NHAI bids. A general manager-rank officer, Ashok Sharma
who headed Gurugram’s project implementation unit for over eight years, was transferred to his parent department---Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The authority made these decisions after getting an unsatisfactory response on this incident from them.
I have an exclusive development on this story. I have accessed a reply sent by Rajiv Chowk-Sohna Highway Authority Pvt ltd/Oriental  Structural Engineers private limited, where a concerned citizen filed a grievance concerning safety measures in March only.
#Gurugram #Gurgaon
The reply from their side came in May, where they mentioned that "all safety concerns are followed by concessionaire as per NHAI guidelines".
This now exposes the mendacious statement made by Rajiv Chowk-Sohna Highway Pvt. Ltd/Oriental Structural Engineers Pvt. Ltd.
Further, the copies of it were sent to NHAI officials as stated in that.
Despite being aware of the safety measures, why did the developer lie about it in reply to a grievance sought by a citizen?
Was NHAI aware of this reply since the copies were sent to their officials?
