Oh this is wonderful. Walking through Sinnington (North Yorkshire) I came across this gorgeous little 12th C church with some completely unexpected treasures hidden in its fabric.
It has literally dozens of fragments of pre-Norman crosses and carved stone fragments making up the fabric of the building.
They’re all over the exterior of the building.
Including this - whatever it is. Someone riding something?
And these cross fragments on the inside.
And opposite the church is this medieval great hall, which is now used as a barn, but deserves better.
