A lot of red-zone work at Saints practice meant we finally got some offensive highlights in team drills. Among them: TD fade from Drew Brees to Michael Thomas and nice TD catches by WRs Emmanuel Butler, Marquez Callaway, RB Tony Jones Jr. and TE Tommy Stevens from Jameis Winston.
Not going to call Saturday a “win” for the Saints offense in full-team drills, though. But maybe their first “tie” after the defense has dominated most of the week. The second-string kept Winston from throwing a TD on final set of drills. DB Patrick Robinson had a nice break-up.
Some cool “teaching moments” at Saints camp today: Alvin Kamara taking time to show rookie LB Joe Bachie a good way to turn and get his hands up during 1-on-1 drills; Brees explaining to new WRs Sanders and Fowler what he was looking for on fade routes, then re-running the plays.
