I met @BetoORourke in Plano last September. I drove all the way there by myself and sat in the heat for hours. I didn’t know what to say, so I mumbled something about being a teacher and he THANKED ME for my service. I cried the whole way home. #BetoDay #BetoForever
The second time I met @BetoORourke was at the Rally Against Fear in Grand Prairie. I went alone (again) after work, and signed up to volunteer last min. Best. Decision. Of. My. Life. I met so many people I now call dear friends. That event changed my life. #BetoForever
I realize, the first time I actually saw him (but didn’t meet him) was during his senate race at a bar in Denton. It was so crowded we couldn’t all fit, so I waited outside and almost passed out (bc I was leaning on a hot metal fence). #BetoForever
Someone did pass out, and the ambulance came. Beto stopped talking and waited until he knew that person was okay. That moment is when I was 100% sold on him. That simple act of compassion was so inspiring to see, especially after living with the leaders in Texas. #BetoForever
@BetoORourke even got my mom inspired to vote! She never cared about voting before, and would only vote for who I wanted. We got matching shirts right before his presidential race began and right after her cancer remission. #BetoForever
