Impostor syndrome. I suspect most of us have some form of it; after all, who are we compared to Darwin or Newton. Remember though: Newton spent much of his time on trying to turn base metals into gold, and it took Darwin 20 years to publish the Origin of Species. (1/3)
They also both had nervous breakdowns. They were also “only” co-discoverers of calculus and evolution. They got the name recognition, but if they were never born, we would still have calculus and the theory of evolution. (2/3)
If you have some form of what is called impostor syndrome these days, take it easy; it is normal; it is a sign of humility. If you do not have any of it, you are lucky, but keep in mind, lack of self-doubt, if unchecked, can also be dangerous. (3/3)
