Can we please stop talking about Google's & Microsoft's office platforms as if they were learning management systems/virtual learning environments? I get it that teachers are already familiar with them & want to use them & we needed to switch to something online right away, but..
...simply repackaging & labelling them as "Classrooms" tries to hide the fact that they weren't well-designed for organising & implementing online learning & teaching. They fall very short of the kinds of tools that LMS'/VLEs have & place heavy admin. burdens on all users...
...This means teachers & learners spend less time planning, teaching, & studying, & more time on dull, repetitive, soul-destroying admin. tasks, which would normally be automated &/or organised into a coherent, cohesive workflow by an LMS/VLE.

17 disparate tools/services. All of these can be replaced, collated, & logically sequenced, thereby providing continuity & saving teachers & learners time, & avoiding negative split-attention & multi-tasking effects (i.e. poorer learning outcomes), with an LMS/VLE.
