Seeing all covens, but especially the Emperor's coven, seem kind of like cults and then seeing the religious symbolism in the stained glass window(s) and the architecture and historic drawings of a "savior" and I'm like yeah that adds up.

I understand why it's so difficult to break out of what is clearly, from the outside, a toxic environment. There's safety. There's community. There's encouragement. These are your people. Everyone else tells you you're wrong, but these people always steer you right.

So this is all being framed as the titan dying for witch sins of using wild magic. And the Emperor's solution is for everyone to repent and join a coven.
I mean Lilith literally said "Renounce your wild ways."

Growing up I was homeschooled, to keep me away from being influenced by "the world" aka my sinful peers. Not only that, but I was not allowed to consume media with smoking/drinking/swearing/violence/magic/aliens/girls showing too much skin/any sexualized characters

Oh, did some of those last ones throw you? That was my "wild magic". Christianity was the study track I was chosen for, with no other options. Being led to believe I had to stick with it forever. That I couldn't leave.
