Their recent disaster is their plan to dismiss their experts 2/: https://twitter.com/arthistorynews/status/1296800219410178048?s=21
This latest approach is consistent with poor behaviour of the #NationalTrust for years, as my constituents know.

They closed #Stephenson’s birthplace in #Wylam in 2017 without any consultation + have shown no intention to reopen.

And they have over ÂŁ1Billion + in the bank 3/
Clearly many organisations have been affected by #Covid19 ... that is understood; but the overriding impression for many yrs is of a “dumbing down” of what was created by the 1907 National Trust Act. Their approach in #Northumberland is proof 4/ https://www.hexham-courant.co.uk/news/18196308.rail-pioneers-landmark-reopen-2025/
I am asking @DCMS ministers to review the @nationaltrust.

It is created by the 1907 National Trust Act + ensuing statutes + its approach can be altered by @HouseofCommons

My concern is for this great institution, + its millions of members, whose support is being abused. 6/
The experience of this #MP is of a #nationaltrust organisation that has
- lost its way,
- has forgotten its roots / reason for existence
+ is disdainful

They clearly have no plans for reopening #GeorgeStephensons birthplace in #Wylam 7/
