Also a 700 years old Lord Ganesha Idol sits at the top of active volcano -Mt.Bromo in Indonesia.Locals believe it protects them frm the volcano

Lord Ganesh wrote Mahabharat on one the condition that Vyasa should never stop while reciting it. So Vyasa told him not to merely write it,but also understand every verse of it & intentionally blabbered few vague sentences just to confuse Ganesh & just take a break from all this!

Astronaut Sunita Williams, among other things had carried a statue of Lord Ganesh to space.
Also an asteroid in Kuiper Belt-2415 Ganesa is named after him

One legend is that a 14th century saint named Morya Gosavi was an ardent devotee of Lord Ganesha. So in one of his spiritual encountes with the lord he asked for his name to be forever connected with the Lord. So this might be the origin of ' #GanapatiBappaMorya'
