*Far-right in #Nottingham*

*Live Thread*

The far-right, disguised as a "kids & veterans" march are coming to spread their hate and batshit conspiracy theories in our lovely city.

I'm heading to the counter-protest in Market Square and will be live tweeting as the day develops.
For background on the march including how Tommy Robinson is involved and the racist views of the organiser, check this thread. https://twitter.com/open_nottingham/status/1296043630856146945?s=19
I'm at the BBC Nottingham offices where the far-right will be gathering in a couple of hours.

So far there is a bloke in a van with a couple of England flags sticking out the window.

No police presence yet and no barriers or other signs the police are expecting large numbers.
The far-right are already threatening violence in Nottingham.

And that's a wrap!

Nottingham has been fantastic!

Everyone be careful heading home.
In a little while I'll update this thread with various things I missed in my coverage.

But right now, I'm on my sofa, enjoying the company of my kittens who know nothing of hate.
This is when the far-right entered King/Queen Street.
This is the kid-friendly, dignified march by veterans & patriots.

Is that a nazi salute (centre)?
