What's the best advice you'd give to a young person starting out managing their own $$?
Mine:
1. Set up auto transfers into your savings/investment accounts
2. Have at least 3 mos, if not 6 mos emergency fund
3. Don't charge on a CC more than you can pay off within a few mos.

4. Don't loan anyone money or co-sign for anything, ever. If you MUST help a friend or family member, figure out what you can afford to gift them.
5. Check your statements every month. You may notice charges you don't recognize or where a merchant overcharged you

Oh, two more things.
6. Live within your means. A lot of people spend too much and when they start to earn more money, instead of having more financial security, they increase their expenses just because they can afford it.
