1/ It’s time for one of my occasional public service announcements. An inordinate number of trolls have descended on Twitter in the last 12 hours. They’re all anti-Biden. Most pretending to be “progressives.” A lot have relatively new accounts. Don’t engage them. Block them.

2/ This is what the trolls and bots do. They pretend to be disgruntled versions of us. And they try to goad you into conversations to not only get you upset, but they want you to help share their tweets to get them more followers, and this spreads their disinfo to even further.

3/ Don’t fall for it. If someone’s acting crazy, and pretending to be a progressive, block them. Especially if their account was only created in the last few months, or they barely have any tweets or followers. But don’t engage them. That’s what they want. 74 days to go!

4/ PS A lot of them are pretending to be “socialists,” you’ll know because you’ll see a red rose in their bio. Many of those are fake, and others are organized groups, often from abroad, who have been sowing discord for years. Their anger isn’t organic, it’s organized by someone.

5/ Exhibit A: Someone claiming to be a “socialist” Bernie Sanders supporter, red rose and all, who just can’t bring herself to vote for Biden, and she’s so so so involved in US politics but for some reason only created her Twitter account five months ago. Hmm. (Block!)
