I don’t know who needs to hear this, but if you’re new to Texas this is required reading.

Y’all: A Guide In 5 Tweets

🤠 You
🤠🤠 Y’all
🤠🤠🤠 All Y’all
Y’all can function as second person possessive. Instead of yours:

Y’all’s

or

All y’all’s
It can also operate as a double contraction:

Y’all’re instead of you all are

...and is typically followed by the present participle...

For example, “Y’all’re going to drive me crazy if you don’t stop saying you all.”
Advanced Y’all Contractions:

Y’all’ll : you all will
Y’all’nt : you all will not
Y’all’dve : you all would have
Y’all’d’nt’dve : you all would not have
Y’all’rn’t : you all are not
Lastly, and most importantly, do not spell Y’all like this:

Ya’ll

It’s incorrect, and frankly it’s embarrassing. If you want to spell it that way, move to the northeast where you can enjoy it with a side bowl of clam chowder.

In Texas it’s Y’all or nothing.
