I like how Kita’s beliefs are constantly challenged throughout the Inarizaki match and the singular way it impacts him.

Before i dive into this you should read this awesome thread from Sar, who helped me process this too ! Also disclaimer that the following thread is my personal interpretation so don’t take this as facts :) https://twitter.com/kitakitsunes/status/1248862628706791424
Kita is a consistent character in his beliefs, that is to say we don’t see him evolve much and he represents the same concepts of valuing the process and doing things properly even in his last appearance.
But he actually gets his beliefs challenged on multiple occasions during the game, first by Aran in 274, then by the coach and Daichi in 283, and for the entirety of the game by the monsters and especially Atsumu. And everytime he ends up smiling.
Kita says he is built upon the small things he does everyday, but he is also built upon connections. And while he stays the same and still lives his way like he always did, there are two things that changed for him.
He likes to put logic on things, and upon receiving his jersey he doesn’t understand his reaction and questions if his happiness is the result of things. And Aran tells him that it’s not important and that it’s just a reaction he has and should accept.
And later on, Kita rationalizes the monsters through a long and fascinating speech, but in the end says with a huge smile that he’s lucky to be here. He confronts his juniors when they act recklessly but also enjoys watching them play that way sometimes.
With this, Kita learned to accept unexpected things and to balance logic and emotions.
The other aspect that changed for him is how his beliefs apply to others. Kita is a character that is first presented to us as someone with strong convictions and a lack of understanding for people who don’t share his view.
But as this game progresses, we see him encounter many different people. He is fired up by his juniors, shocked by Hinata but also proven wrong by Daichi. He first thinks Daichi has to do the same things as him (here follow up) but then sees that he doesn’t work the same.
He learns how others work through someone who he thought was similar to him and through people he himself calls monsters, and how they’re inherently different and have other beliefs that apply to them just as well as his apply to him.
I think the final scene of this game represents his evolution in both aspects compared to what we initially saw from him pretty well. Anyways that was a messy Kita rant I had in mind and I hope you enjoyed reading it !
