I feel like most Asian Americans are so disconnected to their motherland and that’s why they don’t really care about what happens overseas-

Why’s it their problem?

That’s not their culture, their people- at least it doesn’t feel like it....
A lot of Asian Americans have strained relationships with their family which for most people, is the sole source of their culture present in their life, causing them to seek out & look for other cultures to cling to :

ex- the appropriation of Black culture, the “white-washing”
these are just musings of mine but I feel like this all plays into why Asians are so racist bc we’re trying so hard to be “American” also :/

And why AsAm when it comes to politics in China, Philippines, Vietnam or SEA/ Asia there is little to no mention of it
Also for my first tweet, it does not personally reflect my beliefs but I’m just trying to channel what people who might feel like what happens overseas isn’t their issue :,)

I still don’t really understand but I hope to someday
