To the British people who have briefly been following what’s going On. Basically, Dominic Cummings broke lock down to go see his family and Britain was up in arms. We had gov ministers, one of whom was responsible for writing the guidelines, break lockdown by -
Going to an event with over 80 ppl at it. One of the politicians had been staying in a county that had been put in individual lockdown. There have been some very high profile people at this. If you were mad at Cummings, this event was 1000xs worse
they then tried to skirt the rules by putting people in two different rooms and pretending they were at two different events. These are people in the fucking Irish govt. people couldn’t go to funerals. But they made sure they could go to their golf function
So again to explain to non Irish people. The current Irish govt only formed a few months ago. It took 3 parties to form a coalition in order to beat Sinn Féin, who had the lost votes, but didn’t run enough candidates because, well, they didn’t think they’d be win.
So two parties, who are suppose to despise each other, formed a coalition (centre right) but they still didn’t have enough enough number so ... the Irish greens... joined them and helped them form a government (fucking lol) from this point the gov as expected, fucked up
Some of the greens most talented left the party. We all knew where this was going. One of the gov minsisters at this dinner only just got his role about 6 weeks ago, after practically begging and crying for it. Already fucked it and had to resign. He’s like the 3rd?
Since June. The Taoiseach is gonna now take on the role of the agricultural minsister as well as Taoiseach just so he doesn’t have to reconvene the dáil before the end of summer recess? We need more resignations? Lol I summary? what a fucking day for the parish.
