Why do Mancity(25%) and barca(90%) want lautaro ?
Both clubs are coming to the end of a cycle with their previous strikers in Sergio Aguero and Luis Suarez respectively.
City on one hand do have a pretty decent replacement for Aguero in Gabriel Jesus .

This in no way means that he hasn't produced good performances from time to time

They are not willing to negotiate for anything lesser than the amount (according to several reports )

While many clubs could have paid that amount under normal circumstances (some still can ) ..most clubs can't afford to spend that much money on a single player or even at all

Now as much as Lautaro would be A GREAT FIT at Barca (or any club for that matter ),there are some problems
Firstly the pandemic has left our club in a very bad financial crisis where there isn't much money available

Secondly I don't think lautaro is worth 111m ..not today ..for sure
If it's going to take that much money to bring him here ..I'll wait ..maybe next season he might come cheaper

The issues with the 111m is not just financial but
When a player goes for such amounts ..the expectations from fans and members of the club will be extremely high
I'm not saying that Lautaro won't meet those expectations..cause he's more than capable of doing so

Other probs include he has had just one good season ..and for that amount of money ..you would expect guaranteed performances
He has also played in a two man strike force for majority of the season ..we can't be sure if he'll function the same way as lone man upfront

For 111m you expect a lot of goals..and I'm not quite sure he can produce that just yet ..
That valuation is something that is always hard for a young lad to match with performances

He will definitely have to improve his consistency .
Another season at Inter will give us a far better idea on how much he is actually worth ,and inter will have lesser pull with his contract getting closer to expiring

My take on the situation: I like Martinez as a player ..and I'm sure he has big things coming ..but if let him stay at inter this season ..giving griezmann a chance to play as the striker
In my eyes he isn't ready to bang 30-40 goals a season just yet

He will surely get there ..and will be closer to it next year
And if Barca desperately want him this season ..I wouldn't pay more than 60 million ..cause he's really not worth anything more than that
So anything more than that Lautaro is a huuge NO for me
