**GW3 Wildcard Strategy**

Thought I would do a thread of why I think a GW3 Wildcard, and planning for this from the outset may be an a great (and currently differential) strategy.
1) With Man U and City blanking, most teams will have 0-1 players from these teams going in. A GW3 WC can ensure you have the likes of KDB, Bruno, Sterling, Martial, Aguero, Greenwood(?), Foden earlier than others.
2) It’s not just Utd, City who are appealing GW3 onwards. Wolves’ fixtures after City in GW2 read:

Whu(a)
FUL(H)
Lee(a)
NEW(H)
CRY(H)

With no Europe as well, we want nothing less than a triple up, possibly a defender (Vinagre - TBC), Doherty and Jimi
3) Consider also that by GW3, we should know better which Chelsea player is the go to asset. Ziyech, Werner, Pulisic. Double up or not? Go nuts, especially with the Liverpool fixture out of the way.
4) Finally, you want to get on the enabler bandwagons early. The Lundstrams, AWBs, Cantwells of 20/21 can’t be ignored. How will you get them if all your focus is on getting Utd/City players. Yes Ferguson may be the one, but what if he’s not?

Also, price rises!
5) So what could a “Free Hit” GW 1&2 team look like? Teams that have great first 2 fixtures:

Arsenal play ful(a), WHU(H). Players to consider: Auba, Tierney, Bellerin, Pepe/Laca(TBD after Community Shield)

Leicester play wba(a), BUR(H). Vardy, Maddo, Justin could be considered
6) Liverpool of course. In addition to Salah, TAA you could also punt for Mane
7) Drawbacks of this strategy:
- Arguably not enough data in 2 game weeks for WC
- Transfer window not closed
- Can feel hamstrung in GW18/19 BGW/DGWs
That’s all. This thread is not to say this is the right strategy, but rather to show that it’s a viable one to consider.

Thanks for reading and getting this far.
