If you’re rich, set up a fund like the Judith Neilson foundation. Investigative reporting is vital to society. Without it, you don’t know what you don’t know.

You can see the ABC has been systematically defunded over decades by both sides of government. This is a deliberate political strategy to avoid being held to account. Make noise about this.

The ABC just can’t do its job with less and less staff and funding.

Advertising is no longer supporting you to get journalism for free. So if you want quality reporting, don’t sit around complaining about it.

Actually make a decision that will allow journos to be paid like everyone else. Quality journalism is not free or cheap.

But it’s vital to a healthy society.
