Today's topic ~trolls~. For those of you who question why we bring troll accounts to the surface or those of you telling people to ignore said troll accounts - let me be clear:
Just because the instance you're seeing on your timeline is a troll account, doesn't make it less real. That shit happens everyday, coming from the mouths of real people. Loud and proud and with their face attached to it.
It happens on TV broadcasts, it happens on the timeline, it happens to our faces and in the privacy of DMs. Ignoring it is not the answer. Ignoring it does nothing for change. I will continue to blast troll accounts the same way I do accounts with faces and followers.
I'll be damned if other women get treated like I've been treated because I was quiet for too long. I've seen too many people still not understand the severity of these situations. Sexism isn't something that rears it's ugly head only occasionally, it exists every day.
It isn't tailored to women in fantasy football or women in sports. I implore you to ask questions and more importantly to LISTEN. Learn, talk and be about it. Check your friends in private. Don't stand up just because it's trendy right now. Respect women because they're humans.
