As promised, here is my fixture thread! I will go through every team and how but they are affected by the fixtures. This fixture Thread concerns the first 10 GW’s for 10 teams!! ♥️likes and retweets appreciated♻️ A summary and my advice is at the bottom. #FPL
[A thread]
⚪️We’ll kick things off with Tottenham. In their first 8 fixtures, they only face 1 top 6 side in Man Utd. They also face Burnley in GW6 other than these fixtures they face bottom half sides. I’d give the green light to Kane Or Son, however I’d miss any other assets. ✅
🟠Wolves face Sheff Utd first and then Man City. I’d be keen to stay off attacking assets for the first two GW’s. However Sheff Utd pose little attacking threat against a defensively solid Wolves, so I’d have 1 defender (Vinagre or Doherty). GW 2-7 are against bottom half sides.
Including 2 recently promoted sides. I’d look into owning Jiminez or Traore for these 5 fixtures. ✅
🟣West Ham are a side that managers are keen on with 6.5m Antonio and 5.0m Soucek. However, fixtures tell a different tale. Despite Newcastle at home on the first GW they then face FIVE top 6 sides and Arsenal in their next 6 fixtures. West Ham are a no go for me. ❌❌❌
🔴⚪️Southampton. McCarthy and Ings are the stand outs for the Saints. Danny Ings (8.5m) proved that he was quite fixture proof last season. Especially after the restart when the Saints faced difficult teams. He couldn’t stop scoring. McCarthy is in battle of the budget keepers.
He is against other keepers like Ryan, Rodak and Martinez (if he starts). They face Spurs and Chelsea in their first 5. However I’ve got McCarthy in my team currently and he proved himself last season. ✅
🔴Arsenal have 2 brilliant opening fixtures vs the newly promoted Fulham and West Ham. However, in GW3 their fixtures take a turn for the worse, then facing Man City and Liverpool in the next 3. Plan is Auba (12.0m)for the first 2 GW’s and then downgrade to KDB (11.5m) in GW3✅
🔵Leicester fixtures have been at the heart of debate recently. With a very promising opening 5 (apart from Man City) managers are eyeing up Leicester assets. With Ben Chiwell on his way to Chelsea 4.5m Justin could be a useful defender. With Man Utd and City blanking in GW 1....
... managers are now turning to Leicester attackers like Vardy and Maddison to provide the points. If Vardy can re capture his fixture proof form from last season his 10.0m price tag will not seem so steep anymore. My opinion: I’m going with Vardy for the first 2 or 5 game weeks.
Despite being on set piece duty, Maddison has been injury prone and hasn’t looked in good form since January. In fact Leicester had an extremely poor restart to the league last season and even missed out on a UCL place. It is a risk but their first 8 fixtures look promising.
🔵Chelsea are more of a fixture proof team, especially with the signings Lampard has made this summer. Werner (9.5m) seems to be a FPL favourite at nearly 40% ownership already. Despite Liverpool and Man Utd in the first 6. They look to have pretty easy fixtures.
GW6: Man Utd, GW7: Burnley and GW: Sheff Utd. This is the toughest opening part for Chelsea, Burnley and Sheff Utd are defensively solid and they may struggle to score against these teams. However Lampards has improved the attack (Ziyech, Pulisic and Werner) can provide returns.
My opinion: stay away from Chelsea defenders ❌❌ Kepa has the worst keeping record in the PL. 100% get Werner ✅✅
⚫️⚪️ Like Arsenal, Newcastle have 2 very good opening fixtures (West Ham & Brighton). However, GW3-6 they face more difficult opponents with the likes of Spurs and Man Utd. From GW 7-14 they have a PERFECT run of fixtures and I’m hoping the budget Saint-Maximin (5.5m) will be
in form for these 7 games.
My opinion:
Get Saint-Maximin, he is a budget option at 5.5m and he finished last season strongly after the restart. Hopefully Bruce will invest in a striker too. I’d have a punt at ASM.
🔴Liverpool. Let’s face it, Liverpool are fixture proof, having 99 points last season, there is rarely a side they come up against that they struggle. Look out for form more than fixtures with this Liverpool Side.
⚪️Leeds dominated the championship last season and had a very solid defence. Ayling (4.5m) has been eyed up by many managers as a Leeds defender. They racked up clean sheets for fun last season but the PL is a different beast and I think they will struggle to keep clean sheets.
In their first 4 games they face Liverpool away and Man City. So if you’re looking for cheap Leeds players, at least wait until GW 4.
My thoughts:
The De Bruyne Fernandes template has been scrapped this season due to Man City, Man Utd, Burnley and Villa all blanking in GW1. Because they have this blank fixture we are having to look for alternative players. Some tactics to able you to get back in these players:
Early wildcard. An early wildcard allows you to modify and tinker your team to how you like. United assets were very popular after the restart last seaons.
Bench them! It may seem crazy, but have KDB in your team but bench him for a cheap option like Soucek. They only blank once
The blank fixture is the reason Leicester assets have become so popular. Make sure that you have an easy route into getting your Manchester assets back. For me, it’s Auba->KDB GW2. And Son->Fernandes. Plan out your drafts. Stay away from Antonio. Have Son or Kane. Werner 100%.
McCarthy

TAA Vinagre Ferguson

ASM Son Salah Auba Soucek

Werner Vardy
Auba->KDB GW2
Vardy-> Ings? Jiminez?
Son -> Fernandes
Soucek -> Greenwood
Teams to stay away from: West Ham, Leeds, Villa, Arsenal after GW 2, maybe Brighton.

Teams to keep an eye out: Tottenham, Wolves, Leicester, Southampton, Newcastle (GW 7-14)
