I think we need less social media in everything. I don't necessarily mean Twitter. I mean workplace Slack channels, GroupMe, Hangouts, etc., as the cyberbullying that makes Wokeness effective almost always seems to arise in those contexts first.
Social media networks like that are almost guaranteed to lead to problematizing spirals and then fractured communities. It's like how we all got on Facebook in like 2011 and learned that we hate everybody we've ever known and needed years to start fixing that.
I can't tell you how many people have contacted me and said that the Woke meltdown in their company started in a Slack channel. It can't be the case that such a poisonous thing as social media is improving workplace function enough to justify it.
There's something about social media and how we communicate and overshare, or something, that makes it tear apart real communities that need to interact. It causes an ideological resorting rather than one connected to geography or even shared interest.
Not claiming to know what the issue is or how to fix it. There's something here that's not likely to be coincidence, and it merits consideration.
