So much attention and adoration goes towards the ongoing development of @DowntownCLE, @FlatsForward & @ohiocitytweets, but there's a ton of development underway to improve in/around CLE’s cultural heart @inthecircle that deserves recognition. 1/

Starting nearby, @FlahertyCollins “Top of the Hill” development The Ascent sits at the junction of Cedar Rd & Euclid Heights Blvd & is the biggest mixed-use residential project in @ClvHtsGov w/ 261 apts (rooftop pool) & 11K sqft of commercial retail space. 2/

CLE’s most famous hill, Little Italy, has been a hotbed for residential / commercial development, most recently Hemingway Development (of @hingetown Church + State) proposed a 44-unit, 60,000 sqft complex on Cornell Road near Murray Hill. 3/

Continuing down the hill, #PerottiCo’s Mayfield Station is now leasing its 40 studio / 1 Bed apts. Directly next to @GCRTA, it’s great example of #TOD and adds to the pool of housing options for nearby @cwru. 4/

Although it’s not exactly a new dev (2018), it’s worth mentioning another great #TOD project opposite Mayfield Station @GCRTA, @NRPGroup’s seven-story complex Centric Apartments, which offers 272 modern studios, 1 & 2 bedrooms, sky deck, and more. 5/

. @cim_edu cut the ribbon 7/24 on their 5-story 110 apartment student hall at 1609 Hazel w/ practice rooms on the 1st floor, two floors for 1st/2nd year undergrads & two floors aimed at upperclass and graduate students. 6/

Another “older” (2018), yet noteworthy development is @dimitarchitects @OneUCircle. This 20-story high-rise significantly changed the skyline of the south end of MLK Dr & added 276 apts w/ sky deck and rooftop pool w/ expansive city/lake views. 7/

What may be @inthecircle’s biggest upcoming project is Midwest Development Partners' Circle Square. The project calls for a 24-story 298-unit tower which will be the tallest component of a multiyear project meant to revamp 5+ acres at Chester Ave & Stokes Blvd. 8/

Perhaps even more intriguing is the construction of a two-level bldg on Euclid Ave to replace the @Cleveland_PL MLK branch. Plans also include a 7-story, 207-unit residential component above coined Library Lofts w/ studio and 1 Bed suites. 9/

Most recently, @KevinBarryTV broke White Oak Realty Partners’ proposal of an additional 13-floor office tower to become part of the Circle Square development w/ 7 floors of office space atop of a 5-story parking base. 10/

The oracle of CLE real estate @KennyPeepers of @NeotransB broke news of @ClevelandClinic & @FairmountProp’s conceptual plans to add a mixed-use center w/ @meijer neighborhood market & apartments at East 105th between Carnegie and Cedar. 11/

Earlier this week @ClevelandArt finished up beautification efforts at the 6.5-acre Smith gateway park that runs along Doan Brook just to the west of the art museum, opening up new outdoor space for the public. 12/

Finally, at the north end of MLK Dr / #CulturalGardens, a 20 yr old idea has resurfaced & joint study is underway to potentially redevelop @clevemetroparks Gordon Park, which may include rerouting I-90, reclaiming lakefront land for beach/park space & more! 13/

While so much focus lies on Downtown CLE's urban core and nearby neighborhoods in OHC & Tremont, just a few miles to the east University Circle is changing before our eyes with transformational projects that will define the future of our cultural core for years to come!
