The Many Dumb Criticisms of Michael Jordan...
1. “Didn’t beat the Pistons or Magic until the got old”

This is a big lie that ppl use to discredit MJ. In 1991 When MJ beat the pistons

-IT was 29 and a all star
-Joe Dumars was 27 and made 3rd team all nba and was 2nd team all defense
-Rodman was 29 and won DPOY
- 50 win team
So there 3 star players were all under 30...how the hell is that old?

Also in 1991 they had the 4th best defense and the 12th best offense.
Some people might point to how the lost 9 more games. But that’s because Isiah Thomas missed 34 games....
The star player missed 34 games & they only lost 9 less games from the year before.Dosent that show how good they are?

& for Magic Johnson yes that was his last healthy year but in 91 magic was

- 2nd in MVP voting
- led NBA in triple Doubles
- 1st team all nba
-2nd in total AST
And on top of that he won MVP the year before. How can you just write him off as “old” when he makes all nba first team 💀
“Just a scorer”

This is just plain stupid. For those who didn’t know Michael Jordan is one of the Greatest defenders in NBA history for his career he has

- 9 all defensive first teams (Tied for 1st)
- 2,514 steals (3rd)
- 7x Being top 5 in DPOY
- 1 DPOY
- DBPM of 2.05
So at bare minimum if u took away Michaels scoring ability you would still be left with the Greatest Perimeter defender of all time. And for those who didn’t know he could also grab boards and dish out assists.
-In 1985 MJ came 5th in triple doubles
-in 1988 MJ came 6th in triple doubles
-in 1989 MJ came 2nd in triple doubles
-1990 MJ came 11th in triple doubles
- in 1992 MJ came 1st in triple doubles
-1993 MJ came 2nd in triple doubles

15th most triple doubles ever (2nd most for SGs)
“Was being guarded by plumbers”

Jordans defenders:
Gary Payton
Sidney Moncrief
Dennis Rodman
Paul Pressey
Alvin Robertson
Dan Majerle
Nate Mcmillan
Joe Dumars

Every single player there Made Multiple All defensive teams & Everyone there PLAYED MJ in the playoffs in there PRIME
4 of those players have won a DPOY. 6 of them have finished top 3 in DPOY. & every player there besides rodman plays the Guard Position. And besides Payton and Dennis everyone there plays SG.
But Payton and Rodman still Gaurded MJ alot in the playoffs. So point is Michael Jordan some some of the greatest defensive guards ever.
“Played on a superteam”

Right off the bat MJ has never played with 2 all stars in a season so i dont know how you can consider that a “superteam” but lets go through this year by year

91: Pippin wasn’t an all star yet. But was a good player and MJ led them to a ring.
1992: MJ had a good amount of help.
1993: he scored 38% of his teams points (highest)
1996: Pippen shot 34-99 FG the whole series.

Pippens stats
15.7 PPG (3.7 less than what he averaged in RS)
34.3% FG (11.9% below league average)
23.1% 3P (16.6% less than average)
Ron Harper started in 4 games that series and he scored 2 or less points 3 times.

1997: the average team MJ faced had a 68.6% win% (2nd highest) & he became the first player to lead a team to a ring with only 1 teammate averaging over 10+ PPG....What happened to the superteam?
His 3rd leading scorer averaged 7.9 PPG...

1998: average team he faced had a 65.2% win percentage (10th highest among title teams) In the finals rodman wasnt even a starter anymore. And his supporting cast that series combined for 54.5 PPG.
Points in the closeout game of 1998 NBA finals:

MJ: 45
Rest of the team: 42

Superteam?

Only times since 1954 that a team won the finals with its team minus the leader scoring averaging under 56 PPG

1998 MJ (54.5 PPG)
1997 MJ (55.5 PPG)

Wheres the superteam at?
Lowest scoring supporting Cast for the OVERALL Playoffs (since 1954)

1. 98 Bulls
2. 97 bulls
3. 99 spurs
4. 2004 pistons
5. 92 bulls
6. 96 bulls
7. 2012 heat
8. 93 bulls

MJ litterally owns 5 of the top 8 💀. But of course MJ did play with great defensive players.
